Rachel Hatfield M.S. LPC, LMFT, RPT, TAC
I have a Master of Science degree and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist and Technology Assisted Counselor in Oklahoma and Arkansas. I enjoy helping individuals and families achieve their goals. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, and child centered play therapy techniques when working with clients. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help change thinking patterns and alter behavior. Family Systems Theory focuses on the fact that all people belong to a family/social system and are better understood through understanding their system. Child Centered Play Therapy focuses on the idea that all children have a natural motivation to move towards health and encourages the development of skills needed to be successful. I enjoy researching and teaching. I provide professional development classes for mental health professional. I believe education is vital to being a good therapist and it is our responsibility to be aware of current evidence based treatments. Play therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are considered evidence based practices for treating many issues.
